A tender can add up and still miss part of the work. A useful final review checks how the price was built and whether the site team can deliver it.
Does the lowest tender include the work you actually need?

Construction Tender Review Checklist: Trace The Price
Check the drawing register, specification and tender replies against the estimate. Test large quantities and rates, then look for work missing between trades.
Read each quote in full. A low price may exclude access, testing or making good, leaving those costs elsewhere in your bid.
Test The Plan Behind The Rates
Ask the site and buying teams to check access, staff, plant and lead times. Compare the preliminaries with the time and phases in the programme.
If a saving depends on fewer weeks or better output, show how it will be achieved. Cutting a cell in the price does not change the work.
The price has been checked. Is the proposed site plan workable too?
- Scope and rates
Test inclusions, exclusions and pricing gaps.
- Site plan
Check resources, access and duration.
- Sign-off
Record the accepted basis and open points.
Read the price, programme and qualifications together before the final approval.
Record The Final Choice
List each open point with its likely cost and the person who must settle it. Check any tender qualifications against the bid rules before issue.
Get sign-off for the sum, margin and key risks. Keep the exact offer sent and pass its pricing basis to the site team if you win.
